mediacs präsentiert auf der Popkomm eine Musik-DVD mit der neuen DTS 96/24-Technologie. „Blackmore’s Night“ von ex-Deep-Purple Richie Blackmore soll Europas erstes Musik-DVD-Video mit dem mehrkanaligen hochauflösenden Sound sein. Sinn der Präsentation dürfte vor allem sein, Künstler und Plattenlabels für das neue DTS-Format mit 24 Bit-Auflösung und 96 KHz-Samplingrate zu begeistern, welches sich nicht nur für reine Musik wie bei DVD-Audio sondern auch für Videos einsetzen lässt und auf jedem normalen DVD-Player abspielbar ist.

Richie ''Blackmore's Night" will be released in Europe with a DTS 96/24 soundtrack.

I hope M.S.B. Tech either makes a new Millenium 24/96 decoder or upgrades the 2/4/6. It's software upgradeable, so I guess I'll have to go drop in at the site and ask. I don't want to have to get a new receiver.

DTS 24/96 are downward compatible with existing DTS decoders. The added resolution data is existing in the extended data space, just like DTS ES discrete.

Well, it's nice to have something to look forward to while waiting for the desired upgrade.

It will be a long wait... Believe me I know, got my Denon AVC A1SE upgraded with new hardware and software.
Took 4 loooooong weeks.
