I was using HDMI from my Apple MacBook Pro M1 Pro powered laptop to my receiver and it worked great for my 5.1 setup. Then I had to go an add another external monitor to try to get some work done. Unfortunately my MacBook supports only two external displays according to this:
Now I can't get audio to my receiver because I guess HDMI can't do just audio. Is there a way to get this to work? I've heard of devices where it can split off audio from an HDMI signal, but I don't think that will work because my monitor only advertises that it's capable of stereo sound. Would love it if there was a workaround!
