Neil was a big DVD-A proponent, then it came out. Then he was back to LPs. Then the DVD Video disc with music on it. Now he's on this PONO bandwagon. I happen to love the guys music, but I wish he would have stuck with DVD-A and rammed it down the labels throught.

They all gave up on SACD and DVD-A so fast, it's a joke. They'll give up on Pono way faster. Another brick in the wall, I'd say.

I must agree here! Music is great. He really should have stuck with dvd audio. If these artists had done so, it may still be in stores? IT seems to me big names carry lots of influence, but not one who can't choose a format to settle on. Nothing wrong with FLAC, I wonder if Letterman has heard that?

with or without the likes of NY et al., neither DVD-A nor SACD have completely rolled over and died yet.. especially with DVD-A and 5.1, just you wait and see! ;)

..and lets not forget we've got blu-ray here and now and a massive push by the biggest record company on the planet for standalone blu-ray music releases coming any minute to up the ante (and also further confuse the issue with Joe Consumer too, no doubt but let's try and keep our hopes up!) :p

Joe Consumer? What happened to Joe Sixpack? Is he still around?

I jest.. just a humble cup of Rosie Lee is all Joe Sixpack was coming round for..

what could be more English than a nice cup of (Indian/Chinese) tea..!? :p

Until someone shows me how this is better than FLAC, I just kinda half to shrug my shoulders on it.

probably the same. But because of who was presenting it, I suppose that made it a media thing. Plus he was pushing a dedicated player too, I suppose he has some invetsment in it too. Again, why? would anyone want to have 10 f'n formats like now? We do have quite enough. THe whole thing is the tech keeps changing. Getting better and better. But, enough already! BD and flac is good-it works great! Now lets get some multi channel stuff out there! The selection idea is the best I've seen yet. But you can do 5.1/and stereo with flac.
