Question about PC SQ and QS decoding

I am curious as to why decoding an SQ recording with Adobe Audition takes so much longer than decoding a QS recording? Aren't the two processes basically the same thing but with different equations? Why does SQ decoding require additional steps?

Sq scripts are 3 times more complex. If you analyze the scripts you will notice that QS extracts F/R channels with one passage of CCE, one for fronts and one for rears.
For SQ the CCE is Front, 90° and 270°, same for Rear.
Basically that's the difference.
