Audiophile label Reference Recordings announces the availability of its first Surround Sound SACD release. (They have two earlier Stereo SACDs. )

Deluxe imported pressings and packaging from Germany. We are also thrilled to work again with Conductor Michael Stern now in his eighth season as music director of the Kansas City Symphony.

This magnificent new symphonic recording with the Kansas City Symphony now also available as a multi-channel SACD hybrid! The disc contains both 5.1 surround and stereo SACD layers, as well as a stereo compact

I'm told they will demo the Surround SACD at the RMAF show this weekend.

Odd that a separate Hybrid Surround SACD comes later. You'd think there would be one SACD edition - not two.
