I need a new drive belt for my reel to reel deck...I've done some googling and found a place that sells the one I need, but the problem is the guy wants $10 + $3.50 shipping which seems like a lot for a piece of rubber. So, the question is, can I a) just glue the existing one back together with krazy glue, or epoxy or something, or b) is there a cheaper source for belts?

Dave.

That sounds about right for a RTR belt. Esp if it is the correct belt.

For my deck, I actually went to a local VCR repair place with my old belt. They have all sorts of belts and were able to find one to replace mine. Very reasonable prices too. Of course, they may not have every belt you are looking for. Using glue to patch a belt will probably cause some type of wow/flutter problem.
