I've got a friend who depends on me for tech advice, but this one is a little out of my zone. He has a 2channel setup consisting of AVR, speakers, and a Windows 7 netbook connected to the amp via HDMI, and netbook connected to an extrenal hard drive (full of music) with USB. Now he wants an external BluRay drive to play BluRay 2.0 content (e.g., the 2.0 stuff on the recent Yes BluRays) . The connection to the netbook will be via a free USB USB port (I assume it's at least 2.0)
Any suggestions for a drive? Ripping/writing is not a priority here, just playback. Drives I've looked at typically also come with some sort of playback software, but recommendations there too are appreciated.
