The June 2004 issue of Stereophile just came out and on the cover they feature the fabled Fosgate FAP V1 7.1 channel Dolby Prologic II tubed surround-sound pre-amp. Accompanying the photo of this beautiful beast are the words "Ultimate Surround Sound". I'm sure Stereophile will receive a slew of letters from diehard stereophiles decrying blasphemy.
Anyway, I was blown away to see Jim Fosgate's tubed masterpiece on the cover of Stereophile. I've been lusting after one of these ever since I first read about it, but I didn't think it would ever make it to production. At 13 grand, I'm going to have to be content with lust, but it sure is purty to look at. Kalman Rubinson gives the unit an enthusiastically positive review.
