Had a room mate with one of these beauties; low capacitance wiring is almost a given. (slight hedge)

My Technics direct drive is also a 1977 vintage, still working fine, though not in the same league with this unit.

I routinely swapped headshells as listening needs changed. Definitely low cap wiring here, 24H was of the carts I used.

Just wanted to add a plug for this seller....
I keep his ebay store in my favorites bookmark. This guy sells some impecable vintage audio gear.
Keep an eye on him.

I would have little doubt that any 1977 Sansui turntable would be wired for CD-4 since their receivers routinely had demodulators in them.

I'm gping to find out, as I am the buyer! I will use this with my "QuadBob REbuilt QRX-999". We'll see how it works out.

Does anyone know where I can get new Low cap. wires ? Mine need replacing as it has a break some where ..I have to jiggle the wires to get them to work - left channel is the problem as long as I don't move the wires after I get it to work thy're fine. Technics SL-1360 TT Direct Drive- Cd4 cart etc.The one Jon listed in the opening letter!

Are you sure it's the cables? My experience finds that it's usually the jacks that have the broken connections. You might try soldering on new connectors before you have to go inside the unit. However, if it is the cables, they're usually broken at the exit point from the turntable, and sometimes they're long enough to where chopping off those last few inches is no problem when you reinstall the cable.

It's at the exit point of the t.t. and if I fiddle with it they work o.k.! Should I replace them or chop them shorter and reconect them? form what I remember, they're soldered to the t.t , I think !? It's been awhile since I looked !

If your cables look like they'll be sufficiently long if you chop off about six inches, then that's the easy fix. You'll have to resolder the stripped ends of the shortened cables. These are the standard cable color connections: right signal - red, right ground - green, left signal - white, left ground - blue. Of course, your ground cable is black.
