Email from team McCartney this morning says 50th anniversary editions of Band On the Run coming February 2nd. It will be streaming in Atmos. Mixed by Giles Martin and Steve Orchard.
Sadly we'll more likely to get it in Mono on an Edison Wax CylinderI wish there was a Macca fan out there who could make a limited release Blu Ray of the Atmos mix....maybe with the same first name as McCartney....
We desperately need a replacement for that ole DTS BOTR and if 'cute Beatle' Paul follows tradition*, don't be surprised if we do get a physical BD~A in ATMOS from Macca!Sadly we'll more likely to get it in Mono on an Edison Wax Cylinder
That makes way too much sense!Wouldn’t it be amazing (but unlikely) if SDE could strike a deal to produce a blu ray with the new Atmos mix AND the original quad transfer?
... Bass & Drum?Is "undubbed" what we are calling demos now....?
No. Demos are demos. Underdubs are from the actual multitracks with parts missing. Is "undubbed" what we are calling demos now....?
Actually, I would consider buying that.Sadly we'll more likely to get it in Mono on an Edison Wax Cylinder
Wow, that's pretty cool. It's easy to see why they added the parts and additional orchestration. The song is not only "underdubbed" it's also underwhelming compared to the original. That doesn't mean I wouldn't like to add it to my collection, it's kind of reminds me of an "unplugged" version. Here's the "underdubbed" mix of the title cut.
These aren't "demos".Is "undubbed" what we are calling demos now....?
My account of the "Band on the Run" Dolby Atmos listening experience this morning... Enjoy and read until the end for a surprise!
