Hello All: I've got an EVX-4 that will soon be re-capped and serviced. Does anyone know if there's anyway to calibrate the unit to ensure it's receiving a properly balanced right/left signal for optimum decoding? I've had a quick look inside, but don't see any trimpots or whatever to adjust. Any ideas or experience?

thanks from John

Hi John,

Almost all of the matrix decoders of the era just depended on components being within tolerance to ensure satisfactory quad performance.

If your unit is serviced and components checked to be sure they are still good, you should be good to go.

Now CD-4 demodulators - that's a different story! \:^)
