Theatrs have to re-tool equipment now to adapt. wonder what that will do to ticket prices?

True. I understand that the theater in San Francisco that has Atmos for Pixar's "Brave" is charging $16 per ticket for the Atmos experience.
Also includes a Dolby Tech explaining Atmos - or it did on the opening weekend. Not sure if that's a permanent feature... :)

Dolby Atmos has the potential to be incredible, though I fear it might never make it over here. our cinemas are often smaller affairs in multiplexes and the UK movie going public in general don't seem to be too fussed about the overall quality.. sound & picture are often sub-par whenever I go to see a movie, so I find myself more and more now waiting and renting the BD so I can be sure of decent sound & PQ etc..
