Meta(former Facebook) announced a new AI-powered audio compression method. I wonder what is its impact to current Multichannel Surround formats.

I like the idea of better sounding voice calls in areas with spotty connections. It could be a game changer. But the idea of using even more compression for music scares me.

Even worse, Opus has no 44.1kHz ability. Utterly moronic.
