MKV Backup question

Create a backup of the disc to a disc folder layout or to an ISO file and use a media player that plays those formats.
 
If you are ok playing just a single MKV with chapter titles (song titles) just use MakeMKV to create a MKV file with video, audio and chapters then use MMH to auto name the chapters with song titles.

Sure, that would be a great option, however I use a (n old) Macbook pro which is still unfortunately MMH uncapable. :(

In short no. As the .mkv container does not support /create menus of any kind.
