I have the three Subotnick DVDs, as well as the three SQ LPs (signed!). All make excellent use of the back channels!
I've always wanted Subotnick's NONESUCH Record's classic SILVER APPLES OF THE MOON on modern 4.0 physical disc as it was released back in the day as a discrete CD~4 disc.

edit: Checking over Quadraphonic Classical Discography under NONESUCH, Silver Apples was Never released as a CD~4 .... got it confused with Varese!
Apologies!

I saw him live at, IIRC, U of Maryland in ‘13 or ‘14. He played “Silver Apples.” That’s where Infound out about the DVDs with equally strange video.

And the concert was definitely in quad.

I have some pieces by Subotnick in SQ on Columbia on their SQ demo albums.
