Has he finished that yet?

The 5.1 mix was finally released as part of a box set in January 2018.

If you like early Roxy Music you will love what Steven Wilson did with this. I always found the stereo versions of #1 kind of flat and lifeless.
This 5.1 mix is entirely different. As soon as the 1st song kicks in you've got instruments poking out of the speakers. It's an excellent mix.
Now if you are expecting something like Avalon you may be disappointed
IMO this was considered Avant-garde when it was released. I love it dearly.

Probably the easiest 10 I've given. Bob Clearmountain delivers a master class in surround mixing, both in general, and in how to remix a classic album.

*There's nothing wrong with the simple Super Jewel Box presentation, and it includes some nice mix notes from Bob Clearmountain and Rhett Davies. I can't detract a point for the outrageous prices this release commands today, as I'm sure it retailed at a more reasonable $20-35 when new.
