I'm just wondering if anyone has got the audiophile UHQR Steely Dan Aja Album and what is your thoughts on this release? As I'm thinking of buying it , but the extreme price is worrying, any thoughts would be appreciated, Thank-you!
Mazzy says it's best sounding ever, see Norman Mazlov YouTube. I trust his opinion and he's a hoot to follow. But then, I can't justify dropping that much for a copy.

When I put my copy on the turntable, unwashed, it was flawless. Definitely a show off example of a great sounding album. Is it worth the price? Hell no. Two albums with two to three songs on each side, at let’s say $50.00 a piece, unnecessary packaging and (shipping should be free at that price) about $120.00. The included gatefold is beautiful though.

I purchased the Aja UHQR and every time I play it all I can do is grin. It sounds fantastic on my system. I also have other UHQRs and this one (Aja) is top of the list for me.
Thank-you for your reply as I’m finding out it’s the pressing plant issues, and not flaws in the record! I will purchase this as I made my mind up,as it will be a welcomed album into my collection!

Thank-you to everyone who answered my question,as it helped me to decide whether or not to purchase this? And after much research? I will buy this!

Yes, Analogue Productions. You are correct. My bad.

I got it confused with Mo-Fi One Step, for some reason. Probably because I'm getting old.
well yes not easy to remember who's who as mofi was MFSL at one time and MFSL did make the original UHQR's along time ago and now day's Chad ha s bought the rights to the UHQR trade mark

Manually IZO'ing it, this Salvation Army rescue looked VG+ with weird factory defect marks but once I played it a couple of times, it sounds ...MINT!!!!
Not a big fan of this timeline from the group but while listening to it a few nights ago I found it a bit..."proggy"...???? maybe I am doing too many big pharma drugs.
One thing , though... this has some EXCELLENT production...and mixed by the great Bob Clearmountain...

While I'm not a huge fan of Journey, I do like the early version of that band, as the albums before Steve Perry had a jazzy Santana feel and no wonder why being that a few of it's members were apart of Santana!

I am sure that is where my confusion came from. I see UHQR and I think of those Mo-Fi releases with the black cover and red lettering. I apologize for any confusion for those who read my comments.

We bought this record the same week it released. Love it. We used to buy music a LOT as we grew up, married and raised a family. Our kids still to this day are very into music, much of it is still what they grew up with. We had both our kids very young and at 38 years old, both went on to start their own families. Things with music now .... not so much anymore. I sure wish physical releases were still going as strong as they used to. But, the internet.......of course useful sometimes, but more often than not, we dislike it....quite a bit. Television way worse though. Barely on at all anymore. Something of a freak show. Anyway, we played that raised on radio album and the cassette till it wore out being played inside our truck. Last record (cd) we bought was Joe Satriani, The Elephants of Mars. Excellent recording quality too. Talent!...take care ~

into the 2nd Symphony of this 1972 compilation of Herbert's 1962-3 Beethoven cycle which sounds amazing...

I am on the 6th side of 10 of this box set and I am being blown away by the sound on these...from what I have read, Karajan was very much involved in the production values, like Leopold was too, and the soundstage on these is HUGE, sounds incredible in Faux Surround and even though this is a 1972 reissue, the deadwax still gives away the fact that they were using masterings from back when they were released in 1963 (c 1963) so we got some classic masterings on newer vinyl, which I think is the best of both worlds-the vinyl quality is among the best ever I have heard from DG...This set looked unplayed except for the 3rd Symphony-spread over 3 sides so the sound is top notch, fortunately, it was taken very good care of...and, as of late, I have to play the unplayed sides twice to remove all the shit at the bottom of the groove and I can actually hear MUCH improvement on the second pass...

I know there aren't many Classical fans here but prices on these boxes are much more reasonable than the early 60s pressings, which also are VERY good quality pressings; I got THREE of the separate pressing; ALL Salvation Army rescues...

from THIS one I only found the 7th all lost by itself and abandoned but in VG+ condition (dig the original flowery DG label):

and , even though I am not a big fan of how Karajan conducted the Pastorale, I found this one and I was NOT gonna let it slip by me...I think this early rendition is more relaxed than the later one
https://www.discogs.com/release/150...ker-Herbert-Von-Karajan-Pastorale-Symphonie-6
another one I was not gonna let pass by me...both of these last ones earned the "Grand Prix du Disque-Paris" prize which I guess back then was a big thing!:

I am also reripping the Debussy Jean Martinon SQ encoded set which unfortunately , even though they look NM , they have a LOT of surface noise...and they are GERMAN EMI pressings!

I find that I can let IZOTOPE do its magic at a low declicking setting, cause doing it manually will take me two lifetimes....

So spinning this first time on vinyl release of This Fire which has only been until now released
on CD, HDCD The hype sticker tells the story and if you like songs that are oozing sex then put your seat belt on and listen to "Feelin' Love 🥃

Me pillé los CDs en aquel entonces pero hace relativamente poco me pillé los LPs suenan que te cagas comparado a los CDs...
tratad de escuchar "Los Tejados" sin que se os meta en la cabeza..no me hago responsable!

Gaudalcanal Diary - Walking In The Shadow Of The Big Man

I’ve never heard of this band until this recent release by Scott Davies of Rubellan Remasters. They are compared to R.E.M. because both bands were produced by Don Dixon and were popular at the same time. To me, similar but definitely, two quite different bands.
