Moving way beyond rock, Opera is one of the genres which can be addictive.

So, what's your first opera (or highlights) album? Please list 5.1/Quad/Stereo/Mono, format LP/Q4/Q8/SACD/DTS/DVD-A/8 tk/Cass/4 tk (NOT Quad)/2 ch Reel/Playtape/Tefi, etc. The year and place of purchase are optional. Here's mine:

1973 on Q8 Puccini: Madama Butterfly (highlights) Leontyne Price, Erich Leinsdorf conducting. Bought it at Rose Records.

My first complete opera was bought in 1975 at Korvettes. Puccini: La Boheme - Montserrat Caballe, Placido Domingo, Sherrill Milnes, London Symphony, Sir Georg Solti. RCA CD-4

Really, really first, Verdi's Il Trovatore. Volpi, Sciutti, Mancini, Tagliabue. Conducted by Previtali. Turnabout mono.

But the one that made me a fan is Verdi's La Traviata, Domingo, Cotrubas. Milnes. Conducted by Kleiber. DG.
