AK-100 Pre-processing

Well, I am willing to try anything in my attempts to get great surround out of stereo records. I would even plug my QSD-1 into another QSD-1 if I could figure out how or why (grin).

But I digress. Has anyone ever used the Hughes Sound Retrieval System AK-100
to pre-process the stereo programming and then plug their favorite surround synthesizer into that?

Are the results bizarro, or can the results be satisfying?

There is a member (obopp maybe?) here who was using (I believe) a Nu Reality stereo processor with the Variomatrix and claimed that it really opened it up.
