Benefits of 5.1 Upgrade to 7.1..?

I’ve just upgraded as above. I’ve had a Q Acoustics 7000i set up for years, and have just upgraded my front 3 speakers, so I’m going to use 2 of my spare speakers for the additional 2 channels , as my Anthem mrx510 allows me to do this.
Will my Atmos discs down fold to 7.1, which would be a benefit, and also will dts master audio tracks, as well as Dolby true hd, give me the same benefit?
I’ve tried looking for a list of 7.1 channel music and movies, but can’t find one.

Any Atmos disks you have are already encoded as Dolby TrueHD 7.1. The Atmos height information is embedded in the 7.1 bed channels. I believe DTS-MA can be 5.1 or 7.1, but it would work the same way. There is no "fold down". There would be if your system was limited to 5.1. You just won't get any of the signal moved into the height channels. It stays in the 7.1 bed and is reproduced there.
