He WILL be missed! For those of you who may not be familiar with Joe Sample or the (Jazz) Crusaders' music, here is Spiral, one of their best tracks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrKmRRBnGhE It is taken from the album Ongaku Kai, recorded live in Japan's NHK Hall in 1981. Ongaku Kai is my favorite Crusaders album. I have a dbx encoded LP. Undoubtedly, it has the best fidelity of any dbx LP I own. The CD pales by comparison.
