When you're pulling tapes from that many different albums and artists, it does increase the challenge to get a really high quality sounding SACD.
We will see.

I realize that; but a man can dream can't he? I'll probably buy them; even with their limitations. At least in this case I won't have to listen to all the testimonials and hero worship emanating from the SHF.

I might want to track down that 80's Hits SACD. Down Under: love it!

A Men at Work SACD. Now that could be pretty interesting. Not as just a track, but as an album on SACD.
Could happen in HK from Sony Music.

Hero worship of the SACD mastering engineer at Sony Music HK? First they'd have to list the engineer on the credits for us to worship him or her... :)
That has happened in the U.S. market - with fans looking for SACDs done by Gus Skinas, Lon Neumann, Dawn Frank, Kevin Gray, etc. You never know.

C'mon, you know what I meant. Those other people don't have their own forums.

True. But we could invite one of them over to QQ for a Special Guest segment on the SACD Stereo and/or Multichannel section of this forum to talk about reissues, remastering, all things SACD and DSD.
Hmmm.....

I wonder how wide the distribution will be? If it's limited the price won't drop very much.

The distribution is likely to be limited to Hong Kong. Going beyond the borders of the city, HK Sony will run into problem with -

1. the choice of the music - the songs on these compilations reflect what were hits in HK during the 80s; may not be the case elsewhere

2. if there is Chinese language liner notes, those can not be used in Taiwan and mainland China as they use different dialects (Taiwan and China) and written fonts (China)

If yesasia.com is selling these 2 SACD titles, expect them to be under $30.00/each during introductory period. I'll list the links when/if these 2 titles becomes available.

Within the last 2 hours, HK Universal Music has announced 13 new SACD titles to be released on August 8, 2014 (also first day of the 2014 HK High-end Audio Visual Show....coincident?). Three of the titles have previous been released as SACD already. First 1,000 copies of each title will be individually numbered.

In addition, a 4 SACD boxset titled "Classics of Joseph Koo" will also be released on August 6. Joseph Koo is a renowned composer of TV theme songs in HK and this boxset is a compilation involving HK Universal Music, HK EMI, HK Warner Music and a number of smaller local labels. The SACDs will be pressed in Japan.

Yes please! I want these two but I don't want to be at the mercy of HK eBay scalpers!

Hong Hong music e-tailer Hifi-cd.com just added the two Sony '80s hits compilation SACDs....under US$30.00/each

I'll wait to see if yesasia.com will add these 2 titles since they offer free shipping for orders above US$40.00 (I think).

incidentally, since my last post, Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG) announced another 4 new SACD titles. Forward Music also added a Mandarin SACD title. The rate of SACD releases in HK within the last 45 days is staggering.

Toward the end of August, HK Warner surprisingly licensed music from Taiwan Warner and released 4 compilations on stereo hybrid SACDs (pressed in Japan by Sony)....

With almost 3X the population of HK, one would think there are more SACDs from Taiwan, but I guess not. In September, HK Warner released 2 compilation SACD from its own local artists.
