Sansui RX3500- comments? Reviews? Experiences?

I am thinking about bidding on a Sansui QRX 3500 on eBay right now, but wanted some input about it first.

As near as I can tell, this unit is the same as the later 7001 model, but with less power and a lesser decible separation on the dematrixer.

My main question is does the 3500 have the variomatrix hardware that the later Sansuis are famous for?

Anybody have any stories or critiques to share about the QRX 3500?

It's a pass Reed UNLESS -

1) It's free

AND

2) You don't have an *001 series QRX receiver.

If you're shopping on a budget.........watch for a QRX-6001 or QRX-7001.

The QRX-3500 (and other QRX -*500 series) don't have the custom designed Vario-matrix IC decoders.
