I have a Sony Playstation that I use as a DVD Player, will it play DTS conversions? My Reciever is a regular Technics 2 ch model. I have been looking at some Technics SHAC500D's, is this all I need or do I also need a 5 ch reciever? If so wouldn't it be better to buy a reciever that is DTS Compatable and forget about the SHAC500D. Any suggestions (required equipment, models and brands to look for) will be appreciated.

Yes, you can play DTS discs on your Sony PS2! I have tried it and it works. However, your receiver must have a DTS decoder AND have a digital toslink input. Then, it's a simple matter to connect a toslink cable between your PS2 and receiver.
