This is interesting. It is imperative that surround sound be in all new vehicles (or have the option), if it’s literally going to be everywhere. The Yamaha system looks like it might be capable of working in different types of vehicles.
I posted an article today that as far back as the mid 1970s, they were trying to put Quad in car radios using SQ and QS with FM broadcasting. It seems then, as now, this was important for surround to become more successful and ubiquitous.
