Also, I would like to add something to this thread pertaining to the Technics scope but I don't know anything about it. \;^(

hey Linda, great to see another person who owned an sh-3433 from new
+ sold audio stuff at the time that's pretty cool
how long did your scope last? has/did it burn out?
do you ever remember seeing the sh 3434's go on sale?
Looking at this thread I find it hard to believe that Technics or Panasonic SH3434 would have been marketed outside of Japan.
In the United Kingdom the National Panasonic warehouse at Langley near Slough in Berkshire, stocked only a small number of SH3433's let alone a different model!
The market was considered very small at best for such luxury items.
I had to return a faulty unit which failed after only a couple of days, with the blessing of the local dealer, so got to see the inside of the warehouse circa 1976 for
myself. I am fortunate that the replacement is still functioning after all this time.
It is perhaps just as well that the SH3434 was not available, being too young and with too much money, I expect that I would have bought one!
Best wishes to all.
Hi Leevitalone1
Very good point with reference the Post Exchange.
Some of the same equipment came to the United Kingdom by the same route, however I developed the opinion that for whatever reason that the PX specialised in Friday afternoon models, by virtue of the failure rate!
For a time there was a steady stream of very cheap Sansui QRX 9001's with failed Dolby FM on one channel and other faults.
I hope that your experience was better than mine.
Best wishes.
Pictures please!!!!!All my Stereo Equipment is ALL Technics.
