I picked up a Panasonic RE7750A quad receiver in beautiful condition from a local thrift shop recently. It has no outputs other than 4 x RCA speaker jacks, rated 16ohms (along with a 2-channel tape output).
I have an Anthem AV40 preamp I'd like to connect it to.
I know I should probably buy inline attenuators to the tune of about 30db. However, my question is:
Could I instead just connect it to the 6-channel analog inputs (as I do with my other decoders and demodulators) and then adjust the internal input settings down by the right amount, or am I putting my other hardware at risk by doing so?
I've asked around and I'm getting mixed messages. Any help is appreciated.
