I went to the Pequot library in Southport Ct today. They had a record and CD sale. Someone donated 2000 albums and almost as many CD's. Almost all of them were mint or near mint. Many were sealed. I saw some Angel quads and a mint copy of D Severinson and H Mancini in quad. Almost all of them were 3 dollars. I purchased so many I could hardly carry them to my car. Best of all there was an acoustic set of music in the afternoon by Mark Naftalin and friends. Some of the other musicians were Paul Gabriel (Paul Gabriel Band), Mark Zaretsky (Cobalt Rhythm Kings), Peter Menta (Washboard Slim & The Bluelights), Daniel J, (The Contemporary Bluesman and several others. Mark was the former keyboard player for the Paul Butterfield Blues Band. The entire concert was simulcast on WPKN FM. The records were right on the stage in front of the band. Looking through all those records while the music was playing was fantastic. It was not too loud either so everyone could talk to each other while they were playing. I even found a couple of KC and the Sunshine band lp"s in mint condition and immediately thought of Snood. It all happens again tomorrow (Jan. 18th) if anyone wants to check it out but I will warn everyone that many of the good titles are already gone thanks to many including myself. The address is 720 Pequot Ave., Fairfield CT.,right on the line with Southport. Phone 203 259 0346. pequotlibrary.org
