Next up in my trek through my favorite Audio Fidelity releases

View attachment 43492 Billy Joel Streetlife Serenade

I resisted this release for a long time. I thought of it as a lightweight Billy Joel release (BJ himself might even be considered a lightweight, and who wants a lightweight's lightweight release?!), and I felt my Japanese releases of The Stranger and 52nd Street were enough to satisfy any Joel hankerings I might have. But QQ came through again, and a thorough perusal of this release's Poll peaked my interest. I waited patiently until a deal showed up and finally bought it. And I am glad I did! If some of the songs are lightweight (and the more I listen to it, the more the album presents as a cohesive whole), the surround mix transcends and makes this an enjoyable and engaging release. Peace!
It's one of my favorites..........

For those who love the 'Gypsy" music of Stéphane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt, this disc in [ambient] SACD mch comes highly recommended:https://www.amazon.com/Tribute-Step...=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B06ZXZPGNQ

Ladies and gentlemen (and everything in between): we interrupt Clement's rediscovery of his Audio Fidelity SACDs to bring you this breaking news:

F I N A L L Y!

I had scraped together a li'l more than a C note to get a cheap TV, so I could finally negotiate the menu and hear the disc that has been crying to me for weeks. Before heading out to pick it up last weekend, I put a bid in on a Layla 40th Anniversary box set, thinking there was no way I would get it for $105! I don't think I've ever been so simultaneously overjoyed and devastated when I got the Bid Accepted! email. I went to an A.A. Milne meeting today and told my sad sad story during fellowship. A comrade lugged his tv over so I could finally hear it! The memories that flooded back . . .

Biréli Lagrène is a well respected Jazz guitarist of nearly 40 years (probably more well known in Europe.) Might be a good one to run through a Surround Master. Nice find Ralphie.

It really is an excellent SACD but as mentioned, it was a live recording and there is only slight ambience in the rears so it should decode well through your SM when played back in SACD STEREO. The musicianship is extraordinary.

Following on from the Beatles Abbey Roads Atmos gem, here's one that is not on many peeps list to listen to:
