Just listened to this on vinyl. Brought it up from the basement. Ripped a LOT of tubes listening to this in higH school. I nearly got a contact high opening the gatefold! Anyhoo, i put on the multichannel mix. And though my tube-ripping daze are sadly behind me, this surround sound helps me remember and approximate how transcendent listening to this always felt. Yeah, it was nice to hear it on vinyl . . . and today, this is the way for me! Stay Surrounded, Comrades!

The Mavericks, The Mavericks (DVD-A, 2003). I thought I liked Trampoline better, but now I'm not so sure. This is some mighty fine latter-day countrypolitan, with a guest spot from Willie Nelson and a more than workmanlike mix from Rich Fowler. Finishes strong, with a dynamite cover of the Hollies' "The Air That I Breathe." (Inspired by k. d. lang, maybe?) One of the better Silverlines, surely.

Well, okay: I'm only listening to the following in synthesized surround (specifically, my AVR's Dolby Surround Upmixer DSP, with Center Spread), but it's only because the latest incarnation of Miami's finest doesn't have anything available in Atmos--yet!
