New Katatonia album to be released as CD+DVD

Mine arrived today.

The audio tracks on the DVD are quite unusual:

4.1 48k MLP
4.1 48k DTS
MLP stereo
24/48 LPCM stereo

Haven't played it yet apart from a very quick sample which sounded very good, but I had to switch my amp to direct input as it wasn't picking up the rear channels on HDMI input. Will give ti a proper lay tonight.

Update: Just listening now - first impressions are very good. I'm very used to the original album so hearing this version; more mellow arrangements with lots of acoustic instruments and vocal layers with some female backing vocals too is quite strange, in a good way.

The fidelity and mix are both excellent; very discrete with lots happening on all channels and although there's no center channel there is central imaging so it's not missed at all. Sounding very sweet indeed so far.

Kscope are set to re-release 'Dethroned & Uncrowned' as a 2 disc CD / DVD-AV (5.1 mix) presented in a mediabook with a 32 page color booklet, now at mid-price
(So this appears to be the same as the 2013 release, just cheaper)

Kscope are also going to re-release the CD/DVD edition of Anathema's "Distant Satellites" at mid-price too.

not like i'm objecting but that weird decision.
i don't remember how much i paid for "Dethroned & Uncrowned" but it was cheap, maybe 16 bucks.
i see amazon.ca still have it at $20CAD
