QuickTime 7 Surround Sound Features

At Apple's Developer Conference this week they unveiled Quick Time 7 which includes 5.1 and 7.1 playback.

Interesting news there, and much more promising than MP3 surround.
Not too sure about QT7 being the first though, as WMP 10 will play back HD WMV with WMA 24/96 5.1 to 7.1 lossless surround too.
I already bought my first H.264 encoder, and was very pleased to notice it also encodes to AAC.

Yea like we need a 7.1 for our computer. I'm old fashioned, 5.1 for the computer is plenty for me. To be honest most of my web surfing is done with a 2.0 system and half the time the sound is off. My 5.1 system only has the sound on when working with sound programs
