Just spotted this article (below) about Amazon Prime Video’s Dolby Atmos & Dolby Vision qualities, and their pay tier differences.

Basically stating:
"support for both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, which together form Dolby Cinema, are only included (for relevant titles) with one of the ad-free subscription plans."

also:
"If you want Dolby support... Max, Netflix, Disney+, and Paramount+ all require subscribing to their more costly services."

also, it says:
"Dolby's simulated surround sound technology, Dolby Atmos"
... simulated?????

Shōgun - Official Trailer | Hiroyuki Sanada, Cosmo Jarvis, Anna Sawai | FX

* Feudal Japan series - out Feb. 27

I've watched the first three episodes of the FX series Shōgun and I'm really loving it! If you can catch it somehow I can whole heartedly recommend it.

This series also brings up a topic which I don't hear much about, but I'm sure if you're some kind of set/costume/lighting designer or such for TV and movies; you probably are well aware.

It's that there is a specific color that has taken over the look of in these shows, and it's TEAL. I see it all over the place, TEAL, TEAL, TEAL. In my opinion, it can sometimes be used way too much for sure! One show that really uses it big time is the PBS series "Miss Scarlet and The Duke"; check out the vid. below. Sometimes I'm sure the cinematographer may be putting a TEAL filter on the cameras or done in post. The problem for me is that now I'm aware of it and am looking for it instead of just enjoying the show. I believe it's utilized as as way to project more contrast, whoever if it's utilized too much, there's not anything really left to contrast with (like orange i.e.)

Watching the latest episode tonight of 'Resident Alien', Harry has fallen in love with an Avian. He later sings a song of love with an acoustic guitar and it was so horrible; for a minute there I thought I was hearing some Bob Dylan 🫣 :alien: + 🐦

;)

I just saw on ABC news there is a new Beach Boys biopic coming tomorrow on Disney +. Maybe you knew about this but I didn't & I am extremely revved to watch this tomorrow:

This has already got me in the mood for a BB music evening. Tempted to watch the movie For Love and Mercy again. Also highly recommended if you haven't seen it:

IIRC the 348 and 409 shared the same block. The 409 was bored out bigger. Yes?
Both an increase in bore and stroke. But Yes, it was the same basic block.

"One half of the move from 348 to 409 was an increase of . 1875 inches in the cylinder bore. A stock 348 has a bore of 4.125 inches and a 409 has the bigger bore of 4.3125 inches. The other half was the stroke change from 348s to 409s that went from 3.25 to 3.50 inches for a net gain of a quarter inch."

Cool. I was always a small block Chevy guy myself, until the LS engines came along. I rebuilt my first 283 at age 16.
Never had a 348 or 409.

My first car '69 Camaro RS convertible. Gold metal flake with pin stripe. Yes 3 barrel Rochester carb I rebuilt. I think it was a much smaller engine 2 speed auto.

Long gone old girl friend Margie totaled the car and almost both of us on I 435 some decades ago. Car named Timothy after Leary. Maybe that had something to do with it...

Oddly enough, my first car was a '65 Buick Gran Sport Skylark with a Muncie 4 speed and those darn Carter AFB 4 bbl carbs. The next year they started calling them just Gran Sport. The '65's had a 401 CI engine and the 66's up had a redesigned 400.

The local small town cops had a new 429 ford they bragged about running 135 mph. Outran it too. After 4 miles I pulled off a side road and drove up a trail through the woods and watched him fly by. lol.
Anywho, I blew the engine abusing it at the old Tampa drag strip, and at the end outrunning a County Deputy.
My next was a '62 Chevy and that was my first engine rebuild.
Yeah I was a wild child in my youth. I got kicked out at 16 and went to work for a living wrenching pipeline all day at the phosphate mines.

+1 on “Love and Mercy.” Paul Dano gives outstanding acting AND musical performances in the role of young Brian Wilson.

The LS engines have proven to be the most incredible internal combustion designs
in history. Their ability to withstand increases in power far beyond any intended amount
while still being fuel efficient has become legendary..

Just finished binge watching all seven episodes of Prime Video's OPEN RANGE/SEASON TWO with Josh Brolin [who directs a few episodes], Lili Taylor and Imogen Poots!

Filmed in Wyoming, Season two continues the saga of Season One in which a mysterious black hole appears on the Abbott property and holds the secrets to time travel and the somewhat ignominious past, present and very future of its protagonists!

Very much looking forward to Season Three

Fasten your seat belt, Mr. E.....you're in for a bumpy ride! And do start with Season One! In 4K/HDR ... with a GREAT soundtrack, as well [including some Pink Floyd]!

Kool, I'm not a huge fan, but I'm a car guy
Me too. I have a 2021 Challenger 5.7, that 8 months now, fuel lines, fuel rails, new injectors, Pro Charger, Headers, HP Tune, lots of problems with tune, but think we have answer, a stall converter added to trans, ready next week?
Watching Death Proof tonight.
