Vocalion SACDs & the Value of '78s

Many moons ago, my mother worked in the record department at Kresge’s (What you youngin’s know as KMart). She had tons of these 78s. And they literally felt like tons. My cousin wanted them so he’s got them now. His hernia surgeon sends me a Christmas card every year.

A year or so ago, I went through my dad's old 78s and wandered Ebay to see what they might be worth. Not one of them was worth going through the effort of selling. So, just like vinyl, once you get past the collectibles, like my "Virgin Killer" original cover, the rest aren't going to be worth a lot of money (although, they are worth more today than they were 20 years ago). Which reminds me, it is time to watch High Fidelity again (there is a scene cut from the movie but in the book and the TV show about an amazing vinyl collection).
