Believe me guys, even if you have "The Nightwatch" you've not really heard the show yet. Come to think of it, "The Great Deceiver" is also not on a par with these new versions.
The 2 Blu-Ray discs are crammed with goodness - and these shows have never sounded better. Some of Jon Wetton's Bass playing is spectacular indeed.
I really would grab one whilst you can - once they are gone that is it - there will never be a repress of this set.

<strike>not that I want to disagree or disbelieve you on this (hell, I already have it on order), but I'm curious if you have first hand experience of the updated audio to make this claim...</strike>

..and then I saw this credit on the Burning Shed site for the first KC box:
"DVD-A mastered & assembled by Neil Wilkes at Opus Productions, London. "

disregard my query :)

Not just the first box set, Neil has authored all the 40th Anniversary releases (plus a squillion others!) In Neil We Trust :)

Thanks Cesar, sound good. Although I will keep my amazon.de pre order, as Dutch customs is very active which means I probably have to pay taxes plus a fee if I would by from Canada.

I have NEVER had to pay customs for stuff from Amazon since they only use courier for stuff you order from the Amazon from you own country (here they use MRW)...
I think (from working in purchasing and logistics) that they SHIP internally-to their own warehouse- to the country you are in (or the closest one) and then send it by regular mail. I've ordered stuff from them from the US or Canada and the packages have arrived from ...GERMANY!!!

Gracias César!

PS, and the only time I've had shipping issues with them was when it was an Amazon MarketSeller did it (i.e., the Layla box)

Thank-you and damn-you Neil! I was able to resist the Lark's and Red box sets but the inclusion of the surround mixes and your recommendation has broken my resistance and I've pre-ordered. Red has been my favourite Crimson, but the surround mixes of Starless & BB (especially Fracture) have raised it in my estimations and it looks like I'll have years ahead of exploring this period of KC.

Thinking about this, it was probably a package from importcds and the Sluggo dvda set that was stopped by customs. Nothing from Amazon.

In the moment of sanity/insanity (delete as applicable!) I ordered this when it was announced - without really thinking about how many discs there are, and how long it'll take to listen to it all :yikes . With all the other 5.1 & 2.0 discs that I've got to get round to listening to, and the ones that are due, it'll be my birthday next year before I've finished. Maybe there'll be another super box of KC for next October!

I applaud Robert Fripp for recognizing and responding to the notion "none of us are getting any younger."

Would like to see more classic artists put out whatever they think is worth sitting on. Perhaps it has begun?

Maybe a Thrak box but I think the classic 72-74 period is complete with this one.

Yes this box includes a little bit of stuff from between Larks and the start of the Fall 73 European tour, leading me to believe that they have finally exhausted every last little ounce of material from this era.

NOW they need to get back on track doing what they started which was releasing new stereo and surround mixes of the catalogue in convienient and affordable packages!
Is "Beat" still in the schedule for this year? They've gone awfully quiet on it recently...

I meant what I said and I said what I meant ,,an elephant....talk??
I mean...whatever Neil W sez...goes to Mass (as they say here in Espain!)

Beat is most assuredly coming it's just uh well the um release schedule has been FRANTIC as of late! No slacking on any ones part.

It is getting to the point with such a busy November that not much else can still get a decent share of attention and subsequent holiday traffic.

It's going to be very close on a lot of things IMHO. I'm not being specific at all when I say it could turn out different. All projected dates are predicated on everything being delivered, going right and people's availability. Sometimes it goes awry and we have to adapt. Artists want a different release sequence, tape boxes are missing.

We are indeed lucky bastards to see so many releases happening. The column inches of restated impatience just kills me sometimes. We would all do well to stop and reflect on fact that all of these riches do not have to exist. Rejoice that they do!

When's it coming out? WHEN ITS READY.

There are actually 2 DVD-Audio discs in the set, but the first DVD-A (Disc 21) appears to be EXACTLY the same as the DVD-A in the 2011 "Starless & Bible Black" reissue, so that's why I haven't repeated its contents here. :)

Beat, TOAPP and THRAKBOX are all done and waiting for a release schedule. Tracks from these were included in the new tour box. And Sid was amazed at the sound quality of the recordings in the new Starless box as we spoke about it at great lengths at the recent KC shows.

I'm a bit overwhelmed by all the info, but am I right to conclude that in the entire box there is only one disc of surround-music that was not already in the 40th Ann. edition?

That would be imprecise; the Blu Ray discs carry the equivalent of several DVDA discs.

Depending how you slice it, there's more than a single discs worth of surround. Keep in mind were talking about live recordings in addition to the studio album.

Good point. I'm buying the works but I know it's really just that one blu-ray I'll spend most of my time with.
