Listening to the Dual Disc of Anne Murray - I'll Be Seeing You. Not much discussion about this one on the forum. The mix is really nice, and the fidelity is awesome. Probably not some people's cup of tea, but for those who like jazz standards and covers of other popular tunes, she is a great singer, and the surround is excellent. I picked it up in a used record store in great condition for $2 plus tax. At that price it can't be beat!
I have that disc too. Really like it. What a voice!

I actually met her. My parents were friends of her husband (he's passed away). Back in the 80's we were on a sailing trip and stopped to visit Anne and her husband one afternoon at their summer home in Nova Scotia. Later on they came down to the wharf to have supper on my parent's sailboat. She's was very down-to-earth. It was a great visit.

For the past several months I've been cataloging my music collection. I started with the CDs and my largest category, Rock & Pop. I've almost completed this category as tonight I've arrived at the letter Y and this excellent album.

Steve Wilson's revised mixing efforts for both the CD & 24/96 stereo mixes offer a clearer view into the band's music making while the 5.1 remix is flat out excellent.

Pretenders: Greatest Hits DVD. No "Middle Of The Road" for this "Popstar", so, "Stop Your Sobbing". 🥃 🥃 🥃
Hey Mike, I was looking for some info on this one since I picked it up—I'm not hearing anything discreet at all on this one, although it sounds nice overall... am I missing something or is that your take too?

Also, one of the best rock critics of our times, Ann Powers, has just today published a long, appreciative retrospective of Purim's life's work:

That's my take, too. For me, if the fidelity is good, I don't mind a lack of discreteness. Compared to their cds, I feel these versions sound much better. 🥃 :smokin
