An [outstanding] QQ member made me a DVD~R of those two cuts [actually 96/24] in QUAD and I agree with Bender .... they're STUPENDOUS.
Yeah, they're pretty sweet. Almost no use of the center channel at all, like Parsons' other surround mixes. "Cat" has the rhythm section, vocals, and solos upfront, while everything else (piano, strings, etc) is in the rears.
Uh... on it!
If you got them as 24/96 they must have been upconverted. They were recorded for a prospective DTS CD and i think they were 16/44.1 ??

No surprise on the DTS. Nice photo of the man. It would have made a great front cover too. I have a copy ordered and I'm looking forward to it. In order to get free shipping, I had to order an encore. So I got this. I'm looking forward to it as well.

And they didn't even pay for the logo. More distressing is the lack of lossless stereo audio on the DVD; it only mentions DTS and Dolby stereo tracks.
That is very un-Parsons like. I wonder what "DTS stereo HI DEF" actually is?

I don't have any problem with DTS....
On Air was released as a DTS CD and A Valid Path as a DTS DVD-V. I think both sound fine.
A great surround mix is a great surround mix, whether it's hi-res or CD quality... DTS is just fine by me (and I'm sure Parsons won't disappoint with the mix).

Indeed. The only use of that nomenclature I can find online is in listings for this release. I'm not even sure DTS have a stereo codec.
There’re quite a few movies with DTS-HDMA Stereo on BD.

There is a standard DTS Stereo codec. One example I have of DTS 2.0 is on the "Polyphonic Spree" DVD-A, where the mix breakdown option can be heard in DTS Stereo.

Probably not. I was being a bit facetious as it WAS originally touted as a LOSSLESS DVD~A.......it's DTS and doesn't even have a LOSSLESS 96/24 Stereo Remaster. Should have it by next week .... and the price IS right!

A German Stereo magazine touted the mix as being "Hi-Def" as well. All listings I've found (JPC, eBay etc.) still say it's a DVD-Audio. Maybe (at least I hope) there are two versions?
It’s relatively common for record companies to mislabel DVD-Video releases as DVD-Audio. Recent examples include The Velvet Underground’s Loaded and The Moody Blues’ In Search Of The Lost Chord.
