Jeez,.....!!!!!!!
Any music from this decade????
Maybe I should be glad Jethro Tull wasn't nominated!
THIS IS BAD.

Do not mistake this for a slam on any of these projects. I'm sure most of them are fine. But really, this sounds more like an old boys club thing to me.

There were some fine surround discs from new artists. Dredg, Porcupine Tree, Flaming Lips. Looks like they tried too hard to include every genre.

Nick Of Time? Don't have it, but I heard it's no Sea Change!

Yeah I'm surprised NIN wasn't included. Maybe it wasn't released on time.

The list does represent the mentality of the Grammy committee, completely out of touch with reality and stuck in their own past. As an artist I'd consider it a compliment to NOT be nominated.

Well, I find the Grammy's lately to be the opposite. Pandering to the hip hop and rap crowd. Some of the garbage that is nominated makes me ill.

Well, other than Avalon, the other 4 are newly recorded albums. They're definitely "from this decade" as you say! :)

Mahler - Composed between 1890 & 1911
Ray - Covers of songs going back to at least the 1930's (Over The Rainbow)
Avalon - 1982 release
Nick Of Time - 1989 release
Ladysmith - Hey!!! This on actually is fairly recent. 2003 original release in Germany. I beleive the songs are all originals from that year.

They're definitely "NOT from this decade" for the most part.
Once again, I like most of the above.
("Avalon" being one of my all-time top 5 favorites.)
My point is that there is a lot of quality new MUSIC is being overlooked.
