I was very skeptical of this release when it came out. I was pleasantly surprised. There is certainly no comparison between this one and the first, so don't try to do so. If you take it for what it is, it is an enjoyable listen. At this point Geoff has lost some of his range (it happens to the best of us), but this is probably the best post-Chris DeGarmo Queensryche album.
