Maybe we will have a new surround mix for the whole Doors discography in 2027? 😀

Like one of the songs says, it gets better with time.
It might be the original surround album of the year.
Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band- The Traveler
Yeah, too bad there's so few! Let's hope folks actually buy this, since that's what the labels are looking at -SALES NUMBERS!
If the numbers are good, maybe we'll get more.
I mean come on guys, it doesn't cost much more than a good burger and fries. Beats the hell out of hundreds of bucks for a Mega box set loaded up with trivial crap.

One can only hope if sales of KWS's The Traveler in surround are robust, Wayne will see fit to release some of his back catalogue in SURROUND. And his NEW label CONCORD RECORDS is hardly a stranger to mch surround as they released quite a few stunning Jazz and POP titles on mch SACD in the early 00's. https://www.hraudio.net/search.php?format=0&keywords=concord+records

Keep yer finger~pickin' digits crossed! Kenny Wayne Shepherd

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart:

String Quintets 2 & 3

Nobuko Imai (viola)
Auryn Quartet
Interesting! I don't think I have that one.

I was rather annoyed Pentatone announced and then cancelled a quad SACD of the complete Mozart quintets done by Grumiaux et al, but I suspect it may have been a tape problem. Edit to add: you can see it listed here, with the 4th quintet excluded: https://web.archive.org/web/20160305055514/http://www.pentatonemusic.com/releases.

Yes, it's a shame that releases of PentaTone Quad SACDs have dried up. The Auryn quartet has released all 6 quintets on SACD with Tacet. Performances are wonderful as one would expect from this ensemble. I'm not sure how you feel about TACET's real surround recordings, but they have definitely grown on me. Chamber music in particular sounds fabulous.
