Well, the mix on this Columbia SQ Quad LP makes GREAT use of the rears! Played through the SM v.2, i get Goodman's violin in the LR and Hammer's synth RR. Another quality Quad LP!

Yet another CD-4 score! I bought the stereo LP way back in high school (it must have been the third LP i purchased). Now that my SM v.2 is up and running, i found a minty copy on eBay and bought it. Yes, I already have a flac from the QR, but i am picking up these Quad LPs to decorate my li'l quad room. Soon it'll look as good as it sounds. Well, not as good, but close!

VERY HOPEFULLY, it will be re~released in surround [ATMOS] on Joni's upcoming box set covering her ASYLUM YEARS! Absolutely CANNOT WAIT!
I hope they include the Quad as well (a la Pink Floyd for Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here). I'm no expert, but the quad mix is SO gorgeous! It deserves to be heard by us ALL . . . and We also deserve those Atmos mixes on physical discs! Yeah, that Asylum Years Archives set has the possibility of being one for the ages!

There is certainly enough real estate on a BD~A to accomodate the QUAD mix but supposedly Joni was ecstatic when she heard Hissing in ATMOS. And COURT AND SPARK [one of my FAVS] will likewise receive a similar treatment!

Let's hope We also get For the Roses and Miles of Aisles in the next Archives Box! Oo! And how wonderful would Hejira, Don Juan's Reckless Daughter, Mingus, and Shadows and Light be in a future box! And listening on your new system will make all that money you spent seem more than worth it! I have speaker envy every time i see pictures you've posted!

There is supposedly a QUAD remix of Joni's exquisite MILES OF AISLES but that remains to be seen. Yes, my speakers are out of their crates and ready to be activated but my addition at the last minute of two overhead Meridian self powered speakers held up the process. And IMO, better to spend my lifelong savings on myself than undeserving relatives [and St Jude's Children Hospital will benefit as well]!

Okay, this was first released as a Quad LP. This Japanese CD reproduces the original Quadraphonic label. Not sure if the matrix is still present, but i do know it decodes deliciously through the SM v.2 that i recently unboxed--highly recommended!

I did buy a bunch of those BLACK JAZZ CDs from ImportCD a few years back and they did state on the cover it WAS QS encoded. The Black Jazz titles that were STEREO clearly stated that, as well.

An Amazing label and the Japanese pressings and mastering are IMPECCABLE...and the music SUBLIME!

And this title comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

A Tribute To Black Jazz Records
