I got 3 of the discs to the UK today in 2 packages, no breakages! which means I'm still waiting for War and the Spinners replacement. The 2 tracking numbers I was given for these packages didn't come up with any result on UPS or USPS as the previous bundles have, when they arrive they've got Hermes written on them. And as before no extra charges.

My replacement Spinners disc has just arrived as well it was posted on 19 Jan, no VAT as marked as $1 value.

Now waiting on the first 3 of the bundle to arrive, nothing on shipping War yet.
So no shipping notice for the Spinners replacement.

And my :bowing: AWB :51QQ has just arrived with the Gil Evans in one package, and the Randy Newman in another, no added UK costs.

So just the War I'm waiting for.

Oh, and the announcement of the next batch .................. to purchase

All 4 of my titles from bundle 3 arrived in the UK, in 3 separate packages. No customs charge for me either (my luck will probably run out when I order bundle 4!)

Awaiting the Spinners replacement but I've plenty to listen to in the meantime.

No VAT/collection charge thankfully; I assume because they were shipped in 3 separate packages (?)
There used to be a minimum level for import VAT (£15). So shipping in separate parcels could circumvent the VAT charges. But there is no minimum any more, so sending in three separate parcels increases your chances of having to pay on one or more packages. This is fine for legitimte VAT, but it means you might get charged three separate collection charges 😲

Just interested to know if you guys received your Chicago boxes from FNAC yet? I also placed an order on the 1st December (thanks for the heads up) but my shipping estimate was mid-February. Not sure if yours is the same or earlier (?). Thanks!
I'm answering my own question but just for info, my FNAC order was cancelled last month. I hope that the Chicago box gets a repress at some point.

Hi Folks
Just want to make a semi-official announcement.
So I just did.
This set will be a real mixed bag. Hope you dig them.
There will be a publicity event at Common Wave in DTLA on September 21st with the Rhino Quadio gang, playing tracks, discussion, Q&A, etc.
More to come!

Thank You Rhino for keeping Quad alive..........Because of the continuing releases of the Quadio lineup, it became the driving factor pushing me to refurbish my 70's era Sanusi 9001

So, again THANK YOU again @ForagingRhino and the Quadio Team

Absolutely !!!
I'm not a Classic gear owner though I used to be, after retirement the limited size of my home forced me to downsize into a single modern AVR system. Still, I love being able to listen to all the old analog quad recordings now being presented in crystal clear 24/192 files. Back in the day I never would have imagined the sound quality that was captured on the original multi-track tapes.
These really have become the golden days of surround music. :51QQ

Rick Wright of Pink Floyd used to comment how much audio fidelity was lost between the stereo master tapes and the LP that consumers ultimately listened to.
Well although todays vinyl-revival fans will refuse to admit it, there's just no comparison between
the ability of even 16/44.1 CD resolution digital and snap, crackle and pop to deliver high quality sound. The digital revolution was the greatest thing that ever happened to home music reproduction.
All else is gas-light. ;)

I have to beg to differ in one medium. Even consumer grade R2R tapes that are over 50 years old, which contained no compression from the original master tapes, sound so superior to original vinyl albums that were transferred from analog tapes to Redbook CD with significant amount of compression, like 8-track, and cassettes, and the limitations of even vinyl towards the inner tracks where you had to lose bass response in order to accomodate the mass market crap players and systems. Yes, there is a bit of hiss with even the best tapes, but no loss of music or more importantly no loss of dynamic range within the music. I have over 100 consumer grade R2R that sonically are so superior to CD and much closer the original recordings from back in the day. However, I gotta agree with you about high quality remasters that you can buy and download now of older material with as high as 192/24 that sound fantastic compared to vinyl and consumer grade CD's, which are so altered from the original source that they often sound like night and day.

The biggest bugbear for me is damage in transit, a hinge on Gordon Lightfoot broken and now the hootie blu ray.

Yep... #GnarlywoodSucks. I'm sure WMG/Rhino have a sweetheart deal with them, and that there's little influence Steve has over how they fulfill orders, but there have been consistent issues with Gnarlywood since at least the start of the single-disc Quadio program. I wish a better fulfillment partnership could be established.
