I finally got Van Morrison's Moondance box set. Thanks so much for recommending it to me, Clint!

Elliot Scheiner's 5.1 mix is awesome! I haven't had a chance to listen to all the other discs, but I am looking forward to taking the time to savor the extra music as well.

Most everyone here probably knows quite a bit about this release already, but I found an informative review for anyone interested in a little background info...

A housekeeping note to all:

Kindly post ONLY Blu-Ray and Blu-Ray-A releases in this thread. No DVD-A, SACD or other formats here, please. Yes, that can mean extra work. Our rational is that folks who have little or no interest in certain formats may miss those posts altogether. Also, some members may be watching for certain releases in a particular thread. Of course, they won't be there. It is a pain sometimes, but it immensely helps our housekeeping.

As always, thanks in advance to all for your compliance.

hi Linda, could you clarify this a bit more? You mean posting of pictures of bd/bd-a only?

Yes, please. Any post pertinent to Blu-Ray-A, or Blu-Ray belongs here, They also belong in the individual poll threads if they exist. Posts in this thread should be Blu-Ray and Blu-Ray-A.ONLY. Discussion of other formats belong in their respective threads, not here. The only exception might be a comparison of a Blu-Ray-A (BDA) to the identical release that you own on SACD, DVD-A, CD, LP, etc. Again, the exception apples ONLY for point of fidelity comparisons.

I hope that I'm being clear!

Thanks for requesting clarification. It shows a sincere interest in abiding by our guidelines.

Hi Linda -

What are your thoughts about having an overhaul/restructuring of the many (too many) threads on the forum directly relating to particular releases? It seems like every time I get on here, I can't help but think that it'd be great to just go back to the most basic root categories, say, mono and stereo on one side and 3-channel or more on the other. Then, just branch out from there with the absolute minimum amount of threads stemming from those. I think sometimes, but not all, when people start getting "off-topic" on a particular thread, it actually may be suggesting that some consolidation needs to happen. Please don't get ruffled about this, I'm just throwing out a general outline and I'd just like to know your thoughts, and anyone else's, on the subject - thanks - Peter

Peter, that would be a huge undertaking, and most certainly would be Jon's call. With due respect to Jon's and the other Mods' opinions, I personally like the threads dedicated to a particular format.

We Moderators often discuss these kind of QQ housekeeping issues among ourselves.

Amazing 360 degree natural surround sound!

The music is a nice mix of standard jazz numbers interspersed with more progressive jazz arrangements.

A fantastic multichannel surround release from soprano saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom on Pure Audio Records. The 360 degree surround recording is naturally immersive without being overly aggressive or gimmicky with the rear channels. This suits the wonderfully mellow & beautiful performance by Jane and Friends. It received a Grammy nomination at the 56th Grammy Awards in the Best Surround Sound category. The Sound engineer was Jim Anderson.

I am guessing that your other passion (video games) might have something to do with that. ;)

Sixteen Sunsets is a very mellow jazz album.

Perfect for chillin' on a lazy afternoon or winding down after work. :brew
