Little Feat are a band that should be mixed into surround (I have the DVD-A of "Kickin' It At The Barn" which is the only one I think)

First thing I also thought about this great band Dunc! Kickin' It left me severely wanting.

Their new album (first in the last 12 years) is scheduled to ship on the week of May 13th. "Sam's Place" on Hot Tomato Productions, primarily features their percussionist/singer Sam Clayton; taking on the main vocals here for this album.

I may order the LP, and then later see if the digital files show up on Qobuz.

But Sam has a huge credit list outside of Little Feat as well; check it out:

I am a long time fan of Elliot Murphy, he lives in Paris and is a good friend of Bruce Springsteen. He had 75th birthday in March and wrote a new song for himself and for us to celebrate this birthday and to look back over his career. Other fun stuff ​

1. The dbx Boom Box: Really deep bass is physically impossible to cut into the grooves of a vinyl record, so dbx came up with a “sub-harmonic synthesizer” that added fake deep bass to the playback. No cool flashing lights, but it looked mysterious sitting on the shelf.

2. The Realistic Bass Enhancer: Not as sophisticated as the dbx unit and did little more than add distortion to your listening, but at least it had one light on the front.

3. The Seeburg AP1 Audiomation: Made by the same company that manufactured jukeboxes, it was a home unit that stored up to 50 LPs and could play them all in sequence. It wasn’t operated with a keypad but by an old telephone-style dial. That’s how the oldsters made playlists, kids.

Back at the turn of the century, Pete Townshend released a series of live albums from his solo shows that were available only on his website. They're being compiled into a 14 disc box set released next month. I bought them all back in the day and there are some really great shows contained within. The earliest one is from 1985; a show where he had Dave Gilmour playing lead guitar. I love the cover photo. It's like Gilmour is totally perplexed by being on stage with someone who's making any sudden movements, LOL. (I remember Daltrey once being asked about The Who's on stage antics; he responded - and I am paraphrasing from memory here - "well, we couldn't be a band like Pink Floyd who get up on stage and make all this amazing music but look like they're dead." )

This song takes me back to a time in High School...a time when these songs had to be under 3 minutes for the radio....what Ronnie did in 2 minutes and 42 seconds was like a HUGE shot of adrenaline to me...it was me watching my high school play football on Friday nights....going to the Drive Inn on weekends with my girlfriend and parking as far away from the screen in the last row...never seeing any of the movie....steaming up the windows on my car...

Like every generation....we had different expressions...not "cool" or "like"(used in every sentence now)...

The one current slang phrase I hear all the time from the present generation is what used to be a description of a part time job....it's now called a SIDE HUSTLE
