Hi Rick,
Wow, it just so happens I acquired one of these off EBAY about a month or two ago for $250 I think it was. Sad that that is almost double the original retail price. I found it late in the game. If you look at my list of audio/video equipment, you'll see I have many vintage pieces and some modern discrete decoders as well. However, I lacked a volume control for the whole system since my main amps are a quad Pioneer QX-949 and another Sanyo stereo amp used in mono for my center speaker. Coordination is difficult. So, I saw the DDTS-100 will all of it's great digital and analog inputs. My main purpose of getting the unit was to try it to decode my many stereo dolby encoded surround laserdiscs that I love to play. All I was getting was L+R since I am using an old amp. So, this great little unit hit the spot in two ways, it gave me Pro Logic II on all my stereo sources (even VHS dolby if I care to watch one) that were encoded and also a great way to put everything into one unit with easy switching, a remote control, and a master volume that raises and lowers all 5 of my speakers at once. I love it and wish I had found it a year or two ago. I don't do surround on computers, etc, so most online comments I find on this unit didn't help me much. I had to bite the bullet and hope. In my humble opinion, it sounds great, low noise, and decodes beautifully. No complaints or glitches to note as of now. Hope that helps. Any questions, just ask.
