I don't know the year but it must be 1980 something. It was on a tape my dad made way back when. 
I think this song sounds just plain old cool anyway. In RM it sounds awesome. Guitar comes out the rear later on. It feels like it was encoded in quad. The sounds aren't like "drums over here, guitar over there", it has more of a roomy feel.
Actually most of Sanborn's stuff sounds cool in Quad.

Edit: I researched. It came out in 1980 on Hideaway (if anyone has that album).
