Goldfinger is still my favorite. Gert Frobe does such a great part as Goldfinger. And can there ever be a better name for a lead actress than Pussy Galore? I think not. My friend even had a Goldfinger slot car set with an Aston Martin and Mustang that raced around (and through) a mountainous track layout.

Spot on about Gert Frobe....and those female names...those were the good old days...not PC...just fun

OK, rant alert--
I will never understand the fact that , when someone dies, they immediately become GREAT PEOPLE! (great example..John McCain...really ? a warhawk that claimed proudly BOMB BOMB BOMB BOMB IRAN"??? nope, sorry...the fact he dead does not make him a great person..)

Spending 5+ years as a POW in a Vietcong camp likely had some influence on McCain’s thinking. Heck, if I had gone through that ordeal, I’d probably be using bazookas to chase off the squirrels invading my bird feeders.

I was looking at his filmography and it’s an impressive list far beyond his 007 years.

My favs-

The Man Who Would Be King

The Untouchables

The Hunt For Red October

The Rock
Just catching up on this Connery thread. Such a sad loss. Of his non-Bond, I have to say my favorites are:
2.Red October;
1.Man Who Would be King. He and Michael Caine are fabulous. I once read Connery said it was his favorite of all his films. So great!
Of his Bond films I like You only Live Twice. It also happens to have my favorite theme song of any Bond film, except fort the 1967 Casino Royale - but that's a story for another time.

My favorite Bond movies would be From Russia With Love, with Goldfinger a very close second place. My favorite Connery non-Bond role films are Red October and the mostly forgotten The Hill from 1965.

I guess the bottom line regarding my threadcrap is major disappointment...he really was the coolest of all Bonds but, as my lovely and dearest wife says "One 'OH SHIT' can immediately erase all of the previous 'ATTA BOYs' "

Well Mrs. Pupster is not a Connery fan for that reason (any whiff of spousal abuse sets her off big time) she's also not a fan of Johnny Depp for that reason either.

It is hard to know what to make of that whole story. It certainly could be true, in which case that is a terrible taint on a much loved actor, or it could be overstated. My ex-girlfriend is a huge Bond fan. If you asked her what her favorite movie was she would say anything Bond, especially Connery. For Christmas one year I found her a poster signed bye all of the actors who ever played Bond. I wish I had that back now. Not her, though. I guess my point is none of us are perfect.

I've corrected a typo on my post (it's Mrs. Pupster), I've always liked the guy, but yes none of us know the facts first hand and I don't read what the wanky rags have to say about celebs 🤷‍♂️

I don't get attached to these celebs...I just appreciate what they can do...never heard that about Connery...but Hollywood and pro sports are loaded with dirtbags...neither entity really does anything to stop the offenders from working in their profession...the NFL is a total joke...I know former players and it's amazing what the NFL knows about and doesn't attempt to stop...it's all about the money....

Same with rock stars...I like the music...but I don't "love" the people....
