I always have two turntables connected to the big system, and after listening to vinyl all afternoon, I decided to throw caution to the wind and open up a nice sealed piece, so I dug through that pile and picked out this double disc 2018 release ... the incomparable TOWER OF POWER!!! In Stereo.

Technics SL-M5G w/Ortofon 40 cart
Both Macro Reference amps working “top” duty
Both MA-5002s on four 18” subs.
Sansui AU-X911DG preamp (separated)

anyone who has seen (and heard) T.O.P. live can attest to how appropriately named their group is!
I was in the mood to approximate the T.O.P. concert experience here at home, before it got too late and the police show up at my door.

Artist: Tower Of Power
Album: Soul Side Of Town
Label: Artistry Music ART7059LP
Mack Avenue Records II, LLC
Released: 2018
50th Anniversary Recording Journey!

50th Anniversary Recording Journey!
I have seen them a couple of times. The local Jazz club here in Seattle had them at least once or twice every year. Always a high energy fun show. That poor place has been closed now for over 9 months. They swear they are ready to reopen as soon as they get the word. I hope I live to see it!

I've been almost addicted to this album recently. Hall & Oates Rock n Soul part 1. Played through the synthesizer in my Sansui 9001, some of the tunes actually sounded like they were made for quad.

The main vocal in Rich Girl stayed totally in front, while the rears had the harmony and strings. A little"pumping" at times like SQ full logic but pretty amazing listening
