Saw this today:

Steve Hackett ‏@HackettOfficial 2h

Yes the RAH DVD will also be on Blu-Ray...

Steve Hackett ‏@HackettOfficial 6h

We've now sorted all the sound and visuals for the Royal Albert Hall DVD, which will promises to be a feast for both ears and eyes...

Hooray! Have tickets for his show on March 31st, 2014 in Atlanta.

I saw him last year in Birmingham (UK) absolutely brilliant gig, you'll enjoy it! I'm seeing him again at a festival in the summer, might even go and may well go to one of the autumn/winter tour dates.

I see there is a release date June 30th but based on this sadly looks like Bluray you have to buy an expensive box again if this information is correct:

Does anyone know how to contact InsideOut to confirm or to ask why note a standalone bluray or at least a 2 cd\bluray release?

I have contacted the Hackett's Team, and they "believe that they will be a standalone or 2cd/blu-ray ". I would prefer a standalone. We should have more news in the coming weeks.

Thanks, thats good to know. I for one will be looking to order if price is reasonable, wonder who did the 5.1 for this, would the Hackett's team have that information?

^Yes the last two Hackett's dvd releases had good surround sound, so i expect the same with this one...

Did either of those releases have DTS 5.1 or was it just DD 5.1?

I tried listening to the Squakett again other day, the muddy sound just spoils it, there are a a couple of good songs but very hard to listen through that album.

DD 5.1, but i assume if there is a blu-ray for the next one, it will be in dts

This doesn't look promising as the bluray is only listed the limited artbook edition.
It would be nice to have this limited edition but at a price of 50 pounds thats to rich for me.
Where is the stand alone bluray or 2 cd\bluray?

Look here, still don't know if its a blu-ray or dvd, but its a 3cd set, hope to see a standalone blu-ray.

My guess is its the 2 cd\dvd same as live at hammersmith and the steve hackett site has a 2 cd\dvd listed.
I hope you are right that there is still supposed to be a 2 cd\bluray but nothing listed any where yet.
This is also listed and the amzon uk only has 2 listed which would correspond to the hackett site which only has the bluray in 5 disk option.

Unfortunately I think thats right, the blu-ray I have only ever seen mentioned in the artbook edition (a lower £35 from Burning Shed)

Even if one has the $$$, is the BluRay any good?

Was the concert shot in HiResolution?

Will the bluray sound be DTS-Master?

When I am tired of stealing Lupins and giving Colsky parenting lessons, I rather fancy some old Genesis tunes in moving pictures...

I have to get this in some format, as I was there at this concert . I think I'll go for the dvd edition anyway. My dvd player does a very good job of upscaling the picture quality. As for the sound, even if it is DTS-Master, I'm guessing that there won't be a lot of discrete music coming from the rears.
