Dolby Atmos is backward-compatible with existing True HD decoding equipment.


I haven't found out yet if the Home version of Dolby Atmos offers the same
capabilities as the Theatrical version of Dolby Atmos.

As ambiance is my thing, I wonder what new possibilities the Atmos home speakers could bring, for example, if the "ceiling" speakers could be aimed backwards instead of to the ceiling.
